About Ashwood House
Our purpose built self catering accommodation comprises two suites, one on the ground and one on the first floor. Each suite has one double bedroom, single fold down beds are available for the lounge area if required.
In order to maintain the freshness & appearance of the property, we would appreciate it if our guests would respect our policy of no smoking. Unfortunately the property is not suitable for pets.
Located on the slopes leading to Callander Crags and adjacent to Callander Golf Course, Ashwood House is ideal for that relaxing self catering holiday in the Trossachs' beautiful surroundings. A tranquil location but not remote. Easy walks to Callander Crags, Bracklinn falls.
Callander has a lively, welcoming town centre with its interesting local shops. Its location makes it an ideal centre for all activities and for touring Scotland.

Short breaks are available from November to March. £65 per night, minimum 2 nights. Take advantage of a 10% discount for 3 nights or more.
Prices quoted are per week Saturday - Saturday and are inclusive of heating, electricity & linen.
Arrival time after 4pm with departures by 10am.

How to find Ashwood House self catering
From Stirling direction, 1 mile after the 30 speed limit, watch for the pink house on the left, turn right into Bracklinn Road and over the old railway bridge.
Take the next on the right into Aveland Rd then right into Aveland Park Road where we are the white house on the corner.
From the north, drive through Callander, passing the Rob Roy visitor centre on the left, pass the Co-operative grocery on the right then watch for the small post office on the left.
Turn left into Bracklinn Road over the old railway bridge. Take the next on the right into Aveland Rd then right into Aveland Park Road where we are the white house on the corner.

Activities near Ashwood House
Pony Trekking
Pony trekking can be found at centres all over the National Park, the closest to Callander being Rednock Farm, about 20 minutes drive from Callander on the Glasgow road.
Walking
Callander is an ideal base for hill walking in and around the Southern Highlands. The nearest hill, only a short drive away, is Ben Ledi, very popular with visitors and locals alike. There is a good path from the south end of Loch Lubnaig. A number of Munros (hills above 3000 feet) are within an hour’s drive. They include Ben Lomond on the Bonnie Banks, Ben Vorlich at Loch Earn, Ben More and Stob Binnein, Ben Lui and the Ben Lawers range of mountains. Slightly further afield are the Arrochar Alps and the famous Glen Coe Mountains, which includes the Aonach Eagach Ridge. Lower and closer to Callander are Ben Venue and the Ochil Hills with various routes to its tops.
For these walks you need to be properly equipped but advice can be sought from your host, Janice, who has climbed all the Munros and Corbetts (hills between 2500 feet and 3000 feet) in Scotland.
Cycling and Mountain Biking
Callander has many safe, traffic free cycling tracks which take you around the countryside. Cycle hire is available in the town.
Fishing
Fishing is a very popular pastime in the Trossachs with three fishing rivers within a 2 mile radius and five of six good trout lochs within 20 minutes drive of Callander. Fishing permits available locally.
Golfing Holidays in the Trossachs

When in the Trossachs golf is never far away so whether you are a serious golfer or first timer, there is an ample choice of courses within an hours drive.
